# Rent a designer tuxedo for prom — without the rental-shop look.

Prom is the night your phone is going to take 200 photos of you. Don't show up in the same Men's Wearhouse tux as four other guys. Rent a real designer tuxedo from Tom Ford, Saint Laurent, or Hugo Boss for less than the rental shop charges.

## The chain-rental problem.

Walk into a Men's Wearhouse or Jos. A. Bank prom rental and you'll see what every other senior in your zip code is going to be wearing. The fabric is identical, the cut is identical, the bow tie is identical. The photos will be identical.

Renting designer is the unfair advantage. The lapels are sharper, the trousers don't bunch over the shoes, the jacket actually fits at the shoulder. You'll look two years older in the prom photos — in a good way.

## What works for prom specifically.

Prom dress codes are looser than weddings. You can take a swing here without anyone calling you out — velvet jackets, colored tuxedos, all-white, satin shawls, even a well-cut suit instead of a tuxedo. The only hard floor is: black or polished brown shoes, no sneakers, no business-cut trousers (those wide-thigh ones are for the office, not the dance floor).

- **Standard play**: Black or midnight-blue tuxedo, black bow tie, white shirt. Tom Ford O'Connor in midnight blue is the move.
- **Statement play**: Burgundy or forest-green velvet dinner jacket over black trousers. Photographs incredible under indoor lighting.
- **Trend play**: Saint Laurent slim tuxedo, no tie, top button open. Reads modern, edgy, intentional. Only do this if your hair is right.
- **Suit-instead play**: If your prom is more casual, an Italian-cut dark suit (Brioni, Boglioli) with a black knit tie beats most tuxes in the room.

## Frequently asked questions

**What size do I order?**
If you don't know your suit size, the rule is: jacket size = your chest measurement in inches. A 40-inch chest = a 40R. We ship with a free local-tailor credit if it needs a nudge — most rentals from us are within half a size true-to-size.

**When should I book?**
Six weeks before prom for the best selection. Designer tuxedos in popular sizes (38R–42R) sell out in March in most cities. Same-day rental is available in NYC and LA if you procrastinated.

**How much does a good prom rental cost?**
$90 for entry-level designer, $180–$280 for big-name designer, $320+ for couture-tier. Chain rental shops charge $200–$300 for polyester. Pricing isn't the reason to pick chain; nostalgia is.

**What if I spill on it at prom?**
The $5,000 Crown Guarantee is included in every rental. We handle the cleaning. You ship it back in the prepaid mailer the day after.
